Introducing Token Exchange for Box Platform

We've introduced a new capability of the /token endpoint of the Box Content API that allows developers to exchange higher-scoped tokens for more granularly-scoped tokens with a mechanism called Token Exchange. Leveraging client events with Box Content Preview

As part of the UI Elements, we announced Box Content Preview, a Javascript library to display interactive viewers for documents, images, audio files, video files, and more in your apps. Beyond just displaying files, Box Content Preview fires client-side events that you can use to track what users do with content in your apps, like playing or pausing videos or turning pages in a PDF. Learn how you can use client events to learn even more about how your users interact with files in your apps.

Opening Box's preview technology to developers

We’re excited to announce that we’ve opened up the source code for our preview technology to allow third-party developers to build their own viewers for files stored in Box. These viewers can be added into our library viewers, supported by our web and mobile apps, as well as added to our Javascript library that can be leveraged by thousands of developers to build viewing experiences around your file types in their own apps.
